John Pugh

John Pugh is the Owner and Head Coach of Silverback Huntsville which is an affiliate of the Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Team.  He is a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Jared Chaffee of Carlson Gracie Houston.  Coach John Competes in the Ultra Heavy Weight division of the master's 3 age bracket.  He began training in 2001 while serving in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman.  He joined Silverback BJJ in Livingston Tx. in 2018 where he competed in both the Super Heavy and Ultra Heavy Divisions before leaving the gym in 2020 to open the Huntsville location.  In addition to his duties at the gym he also volunteers as the head coach of the Sam Houston State University BJJ Club/Team.
